Program Options for the CFI Academy

Expand your knowledge and your aviation career by becoming a Certified Flight Instructor. Our trainings in the CFI Academy are designed for those who already hold their Commercial Pilot License and Instrument Rating Certification.

Becoming a Certified Flight Instructor is an excellent way to continue gaining flight hours and building experience as a pilot. Our CFI Academy includes three programs:

10-Day Certified Flight Instructor Course (CFI)

You can complete the Accelerated Certified Flight Instructor Course (CFI) in less than two weeks at Kilo Charlie Aviation. This program provides you with the training, experience, and endorsements you need to become a certified instructor and pass your CFI initial check ride. Once you’ve passed your check ride, you’re ready to share your knowledge with other aspiring pilots.

The 10-Day Certified Flight Instructor Course (CFI) includes:

  • 40 Hours of Ground and Flight Instruction
  • 10 Hours of Flight Training
  • Use of Aircraft for CheckRide Flight (Up to 2 Hours)
  • Endorsement for CFI Initial Checkride

Certified Flight Instructor–Instrument (CFII)

As an add-on to the Certified Flight Instructor Course, you can also take the Accelerated Certified Flight Instructor–Instrument Training (CFII) to master instrument flying skills and add the Instrument Rating to your Certified Flight Instructor Certificate.

With an additional five days of training, you can significantly improve your ability to find instructor positions and expand the certifications you’re qualified to teach.

The Certified Flight Instructor–Instrument (CFII) Course includes:

  • 24 Hours of Instruction Time (If Needed)
  • 8 Hours of Flight Time (If Needed)
  • 5 Hours of RealSim SR20 Flight Simulator

$11,000 (CFI & CFII)

Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI)

If you already have your CFI Certificate but want to add a certification in multi-engine flying, the Multi-Engine Instructor Training (MEI) allows you to teach full multi-engine capabilities for a range of courses and pilots.
